PR in Fashion 2013

I am finally in my mid semester break which means I can finally do all those things I have trouble finding time for when I am in the middle of study. One of those things include updating this blog with everything I have been doing since I last had the chance to update. One of those things, and something that was quite exciting, was PR in Fashion 2013, an event organised by PRSC (Curtin Public Relations Student Chapter). The event was held on June 5 at Skatt Mt Hawthorn. Sponsored by Times Square Claremont, we were treated to champagne, guest speakers and beautiful fashion from WA designers including Breathless and Tarvydas as well as pieces from Lost Souls including Wild.Horses, Ange Lang, Jonté, Zhivago and Tindale. In addition to that, the event supported up and coming designers including Seth Cray, Sam McCloy, Marlina Minniti as well as myself.

working for STYLEAID

Hello all,

This is, quite obviously, my first entry... but I sharnt dwell on this little exciting aspect, I will move to something more so (exciting that is)

My teacher at uni told me before the end of term, that students studying fashion have to immerse themselves within the fashion world as EARLY.AS. POSSIBLE. Thanks to the competition within the industry, we must volenteer, make blogs (hence this little gem) and, simply, make ourself known before the end of the course. Time is running out... I only have till the end of 2012.

For this break I decided on volenteering somewhere, but it never really took off. But, nice enough as the world is, it sent me a job and MADE my apply. This was to work for the organasion STYLEAID ( http://www.styleaid.com.au/ ). The STYLEAID show is an event held at Burswood entertainment complex and helps to raise money for the prevention and treatement of AIDS. A great organisation and something I definately wanted to be a part of.

Anyway, my application went though and I'm officially dressing models backstage at the event. I am very VERY excited...

My first job in the fashion world is on the 30th of July. I will post pics of the night later on and let you all know how it went...
